THE TURNING POINT LEGAL FUND
Francis
Ray has established THE TURNING
POINT LEGAL FUND in Dallas, Texas, with the
support of The
Family Place to establish a legal fund for battered
women who are struggling to stabilized their lives after
extreme family violence. The
Family Place attorney, Marie Thomas Jones, says, "This
is a wonderful and timely gift. Most women who are escaping
family violence need to file restraining, child custody
and divorce orders, but the funds are just not there for
them and this empowers them to move toward the freedom
they deserve."
The
Family Place mission is to eliminate violence through
intervention and proactive prevention, extensive community
education, advocacy and assistance for victim and their
families. Francis is enthusiastic about her heartfelt
invitation to all local Dallas churches and related ministries
to join her in establishing this fund and strengthening
the referral and support system for battered women.
